EMPLOYEE Engagement
"Good leaders make people feel that they're at the very heart of things, not at the periphery. Everyone feels that he or she makes a difference to the success of the organization. When that happens people feel centered and that gives their work meaning." Warren Bennis
The Engagement Opportunity
According to significant and recent research (The Corporate Executive Board, Gallup Poll, Towers Perrin), the majority of our workforce is less than fully engaged. There is a slight variance depending on the study, but the message is frighteningly consistent – approximately 20% of your employees are "disengaged", the vast middle are "willing but evaluating" depending on leadership actions and only 10-11% are fully engaged, going the extra mile for customers and the organization.
Key Organizational Challenges:
- The economic impact is staggeringly significant. Gallup estimates that unengaged workers in the United Kingdom cost their companies $64.8 billion dollars per year.
- In Japan, where only 9% of the workforce is engaged, lost productivity is estimated to be $232 billion per year.
- We have three generations in the workforce at the same time. Therefore there is a requirement for an effective, engaging culture.
- Leaders must possess the ability to interactively communicate honestly, richly and frequently with all stakeholders.

Introducing Leadership by Engagement, a program designed to fully support leaders as they develop the skills to fully engage their team.
Your Leadership group will learn to:
- Clarify the leadership behaviours that engage and disengage their team
- Identify their leadership strengths and key opportunities for improvement
- Communicate concrete performance expectations
- Offer rich, specific, honest and clear feedback to ensure performance improvement
- Create a specific, concrete individual development plan for immediate implementation
